Exciting times ahead!
We are delighted to share with you the staffing update for St Mellion. This team has already started working on creating the best possible primary experience for your children. We are raring to go for January! We have already started the transition process, so that your children will be familiar with the new adults.

JJ Wilson

Executive Head

Hello! I am Mr Wilson, I am excited to support St Mellion during it’s very exciting  new chapter. I look forward to working with the St Mellion parents and families. When I am not at work I am a busy dad supporting my son Leo with all of his sporting endeavours and interests. We like to spend our time on the beach or finding new places to explore. Personally, I am a huge fan of sport and food! Please get in touch if you would like to volunteer or get involved in the school.

Gemma Harris

Hi, I will be working as the School Secretary three mornings a week,  welcoming you and your children with a smile as you walk through the door. Although I am only based at St Mellion part time, I will always be available via email.. I have worked at St Mellion before as a TIS Practitioner; so some of the children and parents may recognise me. I am excited to get to know you and your amazing children and I cannot wait to be part of the St Mellion School Family again!

Robyn Riggs

Lead Teacher KS2

My name is Mrs Riggs and I am delighted to be joining the St Mellion team in January! I have worked in the St Barnabas Multi Academy Trust for over 7 years, across all year groups. I love teaching all subjects but have a particular passion for History and Geography. When not in school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our 1 year little boy and going for long walks with our dog, Albie. I can’t wait to meet more of you soon!

Luke Kowalski

EYFS/KS1 Teacher

Hello everyone,

I am looking forward to teaching in class 1 in January – I have heard some great things! I am excited to hear all about your learning journey so far, and I look forward to our future learning adventures. I am a strong believer in taking as much learning outside and cannot wait to explore all the outdoor areas St Mellion has to offer. I am eager to meet you all, children and parents alike.

Mrs. R. Cardew

Support Team

Hello, I am really looking forward to working with Luke Kowalski and Jackie Diamond in the new year;  I know Jackie well and know how lovely, calm and patient she is . Although I have not yet worked with Luke Kowalski or Robyn Riggs , everything I have heard has been so positive, I’m excited to see how our family at St Mellion grows in the new year.

Mrs. D. Lanyon

Support Team/Secretary

My name is Mrs Debbie Lanyon and I am excited to be continuing my journey at St Mellion School. I know lots of you already, and I hope we are able to welcome other families to St Mellion School in 2023! I love being outdoors and spending time with my family, particularly my 4 grandchildren.

Maria Walker

Support Team

Hi, I am so very excited to have the opportunity to work alongside Mrs Riggs in the afternoons. I have worked with Mrs Riggs at St Dominic and we have a great working relationship. I can’t wait to meet all of your lovely children and to be part of the team at St Mellion School.

Toya Herath

Support team

I’m excited to still be that familiar face that the children see each day. The staff member that listens to their problems and is there when they need it. I love listening to every child’s news and what they have been up to. St Mellion is a great school, I believe in every child there and I get excited about supporting them with their learning and knowledge. Watching them grow up through the years and how they develop into great human beings. This puts a smile on my face knowing I’ve been part of that journey with them.

Support team/Breakfast and After School club lead

My name is Mrs Diamond and I am very much looking forward to returning as a member of staff in January 2023. I have had the pleasure of meeting some of the children on various school trips over the past year or so….. so maybe a familiar face to some already. I am very excited to be joining class 1 & working alongside Mr Kowalski whom I have already spent time with and have a great working relationship. I look forward to welcoming the children  on a few mornings with  breakfast club and involving them in some exciting after school clubs too! I love to sing and hope to spread some of my music and song experiences with the children and support any budding future artists we may have waiting in the wings …….

Ellen Crabb
